This book, combined with The Case for Christ, set me off on a apologetics rampage that I am still on today and look forward to being on the rest of my life.
Every piece of “evidence” in this book is support from the Bible for McDowell’s foregone conclusion. He is the author or coauthor of books, selling over 51 million copies worldwide, including More Than a Carpenter more than 15 million copies in print worldwidewhich has been translated into over 85 languages, and The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict, recognized by Wo Since beginning ministry inJosh has given more than 24, talks to over 10 million young cristiajas in countries.
Then he claims that by proving a fragment of the bible true, it must be all true.

This book so thoroughly misses what the Bible actually is and how it got that way, as generally outlined by the scholars of such topics, that I have a hard time believing the cristianaz has ever read any genuine, academic, scholarly-rigorous research on the Bible.

I heartily agree, since the evixencias people who could possibly be convinced that the Bible is the inerrant word of God by such a book as this are people who agree with the conclusions before turning the first page.
I consider this an apologetics work, however it has done much to sure-up my own faith. Early Christians willing to die than reject Jesus, is cited as evidence that what they believed was real. As far as I can tell, this book doesn’t contain a single piece of cristixnas evidence toward anything other than McDowell’s delusion.
That leaves the reader to wonder what’s what and try to sort it out for him- or herself. I give this 2 stars only because of the citations McDowell provides – he quotes all the usual historians i.

This book reads as if it was written by someone who has never in their life even read the Wikipedia page on Biblical Archaeology it’s here: Formidable and convincing historical proofs that support the long-held and defended doctrine of the inerrancy of the Bible. Now times the original size it is more like an encyclopedia or reference book than something most would sit down and read through.

Evvidencias have complained that McDowell uses circular logic This is a reference book.
To me, this is one of the best books you can have as a reference guide. McDowell claims the bible is exceptional, because it is written over a vast period and by many different people in different backgrounds, yet it is miraculously and divinely free of inconsistencies. The only real beef I have with it is that even after reading the thing pretty much cover-to-cover, I still can’t figure out McDowell’s note-taking system!
